Xshell Crashing on Serial Input [4]

Xshell Crashing on Serial Input

Thursday, October 29, 2009 12:55 PM - Gelob

Using Xshell 3.0 (Build 0261) on Windows 7 Professional 32bit and when I attempt to use a serial connection Xshell just hangs and crashes. Its been last this for the last 2-3 versions. I think I might have had the same issue on Vista Home Basic earlier as well. I am able to serial fine using other applications (HyperTerminal, PuTTy).

Program Ver. : Xshell 3.0

We could not duplicate the problem. Could you send us the following information?

1. Are you using USB2SERIAL connector?
2. What is the name and version of the remote host?
3. If there is any information that might help us duplicating the problem, please let us know.

Yes, I am using an IOGEAR GUC232A (http://www.iogear.com/product/GUC232A/)

I've tried the remote host as an APC PDU (AP7930, AP7932, and AP7940) as well as various Cisco Switches (3500, 3550, 3560G).

While IOGEAR doesn't list Windows 7 drivers on their website I believe Windows 7 had native drivers or the Windows XP/Vista 32bit drivers worked. I am able to use the serial connection with other programs.
