Why is the update prompt displaying broken characters?

If you see an update prompt with broken characters as seen in the image below, this means that certain options related to the system’s language are not properly set.

Follow the steps below to resolve this issue:

  1. Open the Run window by pressing Windows Key + R.

     

  2. Enter the 'intl.cpl' command in the Run window and execute it.

  3. Navigate to [Administrative tab] -> [Change System Locale (C)… ].

     

  4. Turn off the following option:

     

  5. If prompted to reboot, proceed to do so. After rebooting, try updating Xshell again.
