PROBLEM DESCRIPTION

This article explains how you can fix the problem with the desktop environment being different from the desktop environment of the console.



RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, add the following lines to /var/X11/xdm/xdm-config


DisplayManager.Xmanager.session: /var/X11/xdm/Xsession

DisplayManager.Xmanager.loginProgram: /var/X11/xdm/Xlogin
