Connections without Session Files

Connection from the Local Prompt:

  1. Enter one of the following commands in the local prompt:
    • [C:~]$ telnet hostname
    • [C:~]$ ssh hostname
    • [C:~]$ rlogin hostname 
  • Note
    A port number must be designated if a remote host does not use the default port number. For information on commands, see 'Xshell Local Command'.

Connection from the Address Bar:

  1. Enter one of the following commands in the address bar:
    • telnet://hostname
    • ssh://hostname
    • rlogin://hostname
  2. Press Enter or click [Connect].
  • Note
    A user name and port number may be entered in the address bar. For details, see 'Address Bar'.

Connection from the Recent Sessions list:

  1. Select a session from [Recent Sessions] in the [File] menu.
  2. User authentication of the selected session is initiated.
  • Note
    If user authentication is already registered in the selected session's registration information, step 2 will be skipped.
