How can I export/import my sessions to another computer?

When you want to use a session file from your current PC on another PC (while keeping all the session information intact), you can use the following method.

Exporting Sessions

To export a session to a different location, you'll need to utilize the Export feature. Select Export from the File Menu.

Generally, exported sessions will store the user password ('Clear Password' box is unchecked). However, when importing the session, the user password will only be usable if importing into the same PC from which the session was exported. This is a security feature as it prevents hackers from using your user password if they steal your session file.

To use the user password even on a different PC, you will need to utilize the Master Password feature.

Click the 'Set Master Password' button at the bottom of the dialog box and you will have the chance to set a Master Password. If you already have a Master Password set, you can simply click 'Next'.

The Master Password is used to encrypt and decrypt all passwords in your session files. Once you set a Master Password, the user password for all session files of all NetSarang Computer, Inc. software installed on your PC will be re-encrypted with the Master Password.

After setting your Master Password, click 'OK' to proceed.

You'll arrive back at the Export dialog box and you can click 'Next' to proceed.

At this point, you export will commence and an xts file will be created.

Importing Sessions

To be able to use the user passwords of the sessions exported above, you will need to also set a Master Password on the PC into which you will import the sessions. The Master Password on the Export PC and the Master Password on the Import PC must be the same. Otherwise, the sessions can be imported, but the user passwords will need to be manually inputted again.

You'll need to utilize the Import feature. Select Import from the File Menu.

Browse for the xts file created before and then click 'Next' to proceed.

When importing sessions from a different PC, you will be prompted to set the Master Password. Click 'Yes' and set the same Master Password you set on the PC from which you exported the session files.

(If you have already set a different Master Password, you can change it to the same Master Password)

The import will proceed and complete.

Using the Master Password, not only can you Export session files with the user password intact, you can back up your entire User Data Folder. You can then paste them into a network drive or upload them to the cloud and you can utilize them directly on other PCs without any additional import work required.
