Using transparent desktop background in Gnome

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION


This article explains how you can set Gnome desktop background transparent so that Windows desktop icons are displayed along with gnome desktop in Xmanager.



RESOLUTION


Xmanager has a feature to set root window transparent. This feature is useful if you want to look at Windows desktop through Gnome. To use this feature, you have to edit the %config.xml file in user's home directory. Here is how:
