While installing Xmanager I get an "Error 1603: A fatal error occurred during installation"
When installing Xmanager, you may get an "Error 1603: A fatal error occurred during installation" message.
If you see this error message, try checking one of the following. These are common causes of the error.
Disk Space
Check to see if you have enough disk space in your drive. If not, you'll need to make room and try again.
Permissions
You may receive an Error 1603 if the folder into which you are installing is encrypted or if you do not have the neccesary permissions to access the folder. You'll need to make sure you have the proper rights as well as having read and write capabilities of the folder.
Destination
If you are installing to a destination such as a USB, the cloud, or a network drive and you lose connection, you may receive Error 1603. It is recommended that you install Xmanager onto the drive on which Windows is installed.
Most 1603 errors will fall into one of the above categories. However, user settings can also cause users to see this error. If you've tried all the solutions listed above, try one of the solutions below:
Windows Installer Service
If the Windows Installer Service is not running, open the "Run" window and type "services.msc" and hit Ok. This will open the Services tool. Locate the Windows Installer Service and start it.Antivirus Programs
Certain antivirus programs may check the installation files of Xmanager while installing and it may delete them making installation impossible. Temporarily stop the real-time scan of the antivirus program and install Xmanager.
Note: Xmanager does not contain a virus. Certain antivirus programs are overly aggressive as a precaution.Registry
If a specific system registry is corrupted, you may get Error 1603.Windows Temp Folder
If the Windows Temp Folder is not specified or is full, you may get Error 1603.
