speed of receiving a job from network is limited to about 24KBs [3]

i have just downloaded xlpd 3.0 for trial purpose. when LPR Byte counting is enabled on the client side, xlpd receives the job from other computers at about 24KB/s!!! printing the normal test page from the printer properties page takes about 30s on a 1Gb network connection!!!!

when LPR byte counting is disabled, the speed is full but xlpd does not get the correct byte count and so xlpd keeps waiting for the complete file to be received which never happens.

is this a default behavior?

i'm not sure if the issue mentioned in that page is the same as the one i'm facing here. The reason is that i have tested other LPDs and the problem did not appear, for example SDI and RPM LPD receive jobs at a high speed. it seems there is some workaround for this issue without the hotfix from microsoft.

i had this same issue when i tested xlpd v2.x. The reason i'm testing xlpd again is that i like it's features.

This is a bug in Windows. However, it seems the other applications you mentioned handles this bug without the hotfix.

We will look into this problem.
