Pasting in nano and pico [2]

Pasting in nano and pico

Friday, February 25, 2005 3:38 AM - David Brossard

Whenever I paste multiple lines into pico or nano the line wrapping gets messed up. It is hard to explain because not only does it mess up the lines it is pasting, it will mess up carriage returns of other lines in existing text. vi and other editors seem to work fine. This has been a problem since Xshell 1.0b and with all terminal types connecting to both Solaris and Linux. Below is an example of how it messes things up:

copied text:

drwxr-xr-x 13 root sys 3584 Jan 25 16:47 dev
drwxr-xr-x 4 root sys 512 May 1 2002 devices
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root other 13 Jan 26 12:26 downloads -> /export/spare
drwxr-xr-x 46 root sys 3584 Feb 4 14:52 etc
drwxr-xr-x 4 root sys 512 Mar 21 2003 export
dr-xr-xr-x 1 root root 1 Jan 25 16:47 home
drwxr-xr-x 9 root sys 512 Apr 25 2004 kernel

text as it appears when pasted with right click in nano or pico only:

drwxr-xr-x 13 root sys 3584 Jan 25 16:47 dev drwxr-xr-x 4 root sys 512 May 1
2002 devices lrwxrwxrwx 1 root other 13 Jan 26 12:26 downloads ->
/export/spare drwxr-xr-x 46 root sys 3584 Feb 4 14:52 etc drwxr-xr-x 4 root
sys 512 Mar 21 2003 export dr-xr-xr-x 1 root root 1 Jan 25 16:47 home
drwxr-xr-x 9 root sys 512 Apr 25 2004 kernel

For Xshell 1.2:
C:\Program Files\NetSarang\Xshell

For Xmanager Enterprise 2.0:

We would appreciate your feedback.
