Screen Lock Settings
You can lock the terminal screen while you are away from the PC to protect your session from unwanted use. When the terminal is locked, the terminal screen changes to a grey and users cannot interact with terminal until the correct password is received. Once the screen is locked, you cannot pass any data to the terminal. Xshell cannot be closed until the correct password is received. However, connections will stay open and data will be still updated in the terminal.
Set a Screen Lock Password
- From the Tools menu, select Options.
- Select the Security tab.
- From the Lock Screen section, click Set Password to open the Lock Screen Password dialog box.
- Enter the desired password into the 'Enter Password' and 'Confirm Password' fields.
- Click OK to save.

If a Lock Screen is attempted from the View menu when a password is not set, the user will be prompted to first set a password.
To Lock Screen
- Click on the View menu and select Lock Screen.
